Maybe I'm not understanding the process correctly, but it's not the
script that's supplying the output, it's the cron daemon itself
notifying me that the job has run. Can I change the MAILTO in the
crontab file to redirect mail to /dev/null?
It's currently set to root:
MAILTO=root
