Hello,
I am trying to get yellowdog linux setup on my Powerbook G3 (99-bronze
keyboard) and am having some trouble.
If I include "novideo" in my yaboot.conf script, Xconfigurator works but
I can't get "startx" to work properly (note, I tried both PowerBook G3 and
PowerBook G3 99 with as many different resolutions and bit depths
9selected). When I type startup I get "Fatal statup error No valid modes
found". Furthermore, the blinking cursor does not show up at all (so it is
hard to know where I am typing!- not a problem if I don't include
"novideo") Note, Xconfigurator or fbdev detects the following:
  Name: ATY Mach64
  Video Memory 8 meg
  Accelerated: Yes
If I don't include "novideo", Xconfigurator is broken and thus I can't
do much.
Any pointers? I am a bit new to linux.

Note, I picked up my yellow dog linux CD at macworld 00 in NY.
