Subject: Raid 1 on CS1.1 or 1.2

I have been trying to get Raid 1(mirroring) running on YDL 1.1 and have
sofar been unsucessful.
It seems that if there is a apple partition anywhere on any disk in the
system that disk druid will not run.
since it is a pain to try to configure raid by first building a minimal
system and then going back and upgrading is there a better way?
I understand that CS 1.2 still is based on RH6.2...
will the "next" version have maybe parted or some other tool that will
easily allow building raid arrays?
