Hi Paul,
If you are currently running with BootX, then the kernel is on that mac
partition that you now want to shrink. Although the kernel gets loaded into
memory, if anything disrupts your pdisk/yaboot activities, I see problems.
Better to work off the installer CD/ramdisk, or even partition with the mac
rescue disk.
