Subject: 2.1 Install & Bootloader

I've just installed YDL 2.1 on my '99 iMac DV SE.
Initially, the bootloader didn't work at all. After some fiddling with
/etc/fstab, the instructions on the website in the engineering notes did
get me a functioning bootloader. However, it fails to start Linux, saying:
[complicated path which looks correct]:/vmlinux: corrupt filesystem
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this? (It will boot MacOS
and the CD without problems.)
The cd-linux root= boot method works perfectly well, so the rest of the
install appears to have worked correctly.
