Thank you very much for the reply. My 8500 (which I have just obtained
from another user) has more memory than when delivered ... but the main
processor is original. I plan to install a 'new' second SCSI hard drive
for holding the linux distribution. Another enthusiast has provided a copy
of Mac OS 8.1 for the Mac side of the machine. Going on the amount of fun
I have with the iMac ... I expect to spenmd the greater part of my time
playing on the linux side. Version 2.0 has installed smoothly on that
machine) ... which I **cannot** say about SuSE version 7.3 ... which
regularly reports it cannot install this or that. Actually it's a
different this or that each time!! I shall stay with YDL ... and maybe
just upgrade version 2.0 a little.
