The strange icon means MacOS cannot find a valid system folder.
Something is wrong with your MacOS installation, exactly what is difficult
to say with your info.
However, unless you have mounted OS9/X System partitions in YDL, it is
pretty much impossible for YDL to really screw things up. You might want
to check your partition map(s) in YDL to see if all is well.
You can always boot with a MacOS CD in the drive (hold down C key), to
check it out.
You could try blessing the System in OS9 when booted from the CD.
Open the HD with OS9 Installed, select the Finder icon, move it to the
desktop and leave it there briefly before dragging it back to the System
Folder; restart.
Note also that reinstalling OSX may be necessary but that OSX installer
does not change files already installed, so it should simply reinstall/fix
whatever is missing.
