Since you can type, and the machine seems to be responding, it seems
Nathan is right. Your system boots fine, but X runs into problems as
soon as it starts loading.

That means you the best you can do is to boot into single user mode as
Nathan suggests. Since you are using BootX, you have to pass the single
parameter to via the bootx window.

Boot your machine, and when the BootX window appears, append single to
the text field at the bottom of the window. That will boot your system
into single user mode.

Then follow Nathan's suggestions of typing 'init 3' and so on.
