This card seems only to work in accelerated mode at a very limited number
of resolutions. I never had any success and swapped the card for ATI ones
that are well supported by Linux.

For a start, I suggest that you:

- start Linux in non-accelerated mode - this is a BootX option the name of
which unfortunately escapes me

- look through /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 it will contain something like this:

Section "Device"
        Identifier "Card0"
        Option "UseFBDev"
        Driver "imstt"
        BusID "PCI:0:13:0"
EndSection

Don't worry too much if it's not exactly the same. Change the "imstt" to
"fbdev" and add:

Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb0"

.. within the "Device" section. See is this helps.
