Non-functional PowerBook "fn" key

Subject: Non-functional PowerBook "fn" key

Since installing Ben Herrenschmidt's 2.2.17pre10-ben1 kernel, Yellow
Dog Linux no longer seems to recognize the "fn" key of my PowerBook
G3 (Wallstreet '98). I've been using this key to emulate a mouse
button up until now.

The showkey command doesn't generate an adb scancode for mac-us-std
nor mac-us-ext for the key. After activating
"keyboard_sends_linux_keycodes" (which resides in
proc/sys/dev/mac_hid/), showkey still fails to recognize a fn press.

Is this simply a matter of installing a PowerBook-specific keymap
file, perhaps?

Thanks!

John Petronis
