Subject: X ultra slow on g3

I installed YDL 1.2 in a PowerMacintosh G3(the old white ones), I'm having
the next problems:
-X : When I do startx it takes hours to it to show. Once it starts, the
speed seems to be normal, but some programs like netscape are also too
slow.
-"linuxconf" and "syslogger" takes about 2 minute each one when
booting. I have to disable them to boot at normal speed, but they're
slower than the usual.
How can I solve it?
