Hi Paul: Thanks for the tip! Maybe it's normal, but Xpmac wasn't
installed on my system. I have installed it but am at a lose for how to
activate it when getting into KDE or Gnome. I typically get into KDE
using startx & into gnome using gdm (only way I know how). Am not
familiar w/ shell scripts. Is it possible to modify startx or some file
it calls to use Xpmac when I execute either startx or gdm? Would you
have a copy of such a file?

Thanks!
peter
