I have a somewhat patched up 7500, and I'd like to install YDL on it,
but I can't even manage to get into the installer. I suppose I should
nail down some specs:

7500/96MB RAM with 256k motherboard cache pulled from 8500

Mactell G3/300 upgrade card
Adaptec 2940UW SCSI card with 9.1GB drive (hopefully to run linux) - HFS+
1.2GB Drive interfaces with built in fast-scsi (MESH), runs MacOS - HFS+
Fujitsu DynaMO 640 Magneto Optical drive
4x SCSI CD-ROM Drive.
(no floppy drive)

video is currently running through the built-in (control) chipset. I am
using the PowerLogix G3 cache-profiler to deal with my g3 upgrade, and
it claims that it is totally cool with LinuxPPC and BootX. I even ran
the minimalist g3 cache program that came with the YDL 2.0/BootX
installer.

When I attempt to load the kernel so that I can install Linux, I get a
kernel panic (machine check). I am pretty sure the 7500 is compatible,
and I've read nothing about incompatibility of g3 upgrade cards, so I'm
really curious what's going on, and what I can do. Just for the record,
I tried using HFS, and that didn't work either.
