When I mount a DOS formatted zip disk (mount -t dos /dev/sdb /mnt/zip)
on my B/W G3 with the 'dos' type I only see 8.3 filenames. When I mount the
same
disk with the 'auto' type (mount -t auto /dev/sdb /mnt/zip) I see the
full name. Hope this helps,
