What we really need for stuff like this is three panels displayed in a
browser or other window.
1 to show the real world situation in terms of hardware and hardware registers
2 to show the software situation in terms of processes
3 to show the configuration files involved.
Ok maybe a fourth window to explain the relationships and connections between
the things in the various panels.
Ideally, with appropriate access you would be able to alter the
configuration, stop and restart the processes and modify the hardware
registers.
