Bob,

Boot up your PowerMac and take a look inside the System Folder/Linux
Kernels.

If your "vmlinux" has a SimpleText icon - replace it with the vmlinux (with
a generic icon) from the CD. I was having the same problem you were with a
7600 and I did that just now - it worked right away.

It must have installed as a text file and not a binary file - that seems to
screw things up a little.
