LiteOn LNE100TX is the Ethernet chip. Asante doesn't design their
own chips, they just buy somebody else's. (Every so often they seem
to switch vendors; they originally used a true DEC Tulip, later they
switched to one kind of Tulip clone, and I think now they're on
another kind of Tulip clone.)

You probably need the tulip driver, period. I had difficulty with a
similar Asante card and it seemed to be due to YDL 2.0's 2.2.19
kernel being compiled with the de4x5 driver rather than the tulip
driver. I don't think de4x5 is very compatible with some of the
Tulip clones.

One thing you can try that's fast and easy is to install YDL's 2.4.4
kernel. For whatever reason, in that one they switched to the tulip
driver.
