It's so -NICE- to hear people talking some sense. G4 is a nice
architecture, and a 500Mhz G4 is pretty quick.
And Mhz isn't everything.
But an Athlon 1.2 is -also- a pretty damn nice architecture, and while
perhaps not quite as efficient ... it's got a dreadfully big lead.
An 800Mhz G4 vs. an 800Mhz x86 would be a more interesting speed
comparison, one that I haven't ever seen done. Does anybody have a URL to
benchmarks for that?
