Emerson,

        The G3 cache is supported by BootX, not YDL directly, and it
works on my 7300 with Newer G3/300. I believe the YDL CD comes with a
program that looks at the cache and writes a configuration file that
BootX can read to configure the cache, if you turn the setting on.

        FWIW, Sonnet (who hired the Newer engineering staff and
bought some of their assets) says they will support 9.1 and Mac OS X
with a CD installer for about $60 in a few months.
