I told xconfigurator to only set up with 1 resolution, and that fixed
the problem, for the most part. Now, the only annoyance is that the
screen is a bit offset (like .25") in the x direction. The part that
gets cut off wraps around to the left side of the display. Very usable,
but I'll see if I can get all the bugs worked out yet.

Sort of PS: I have a ix3d ultimate res card that it sitting in a static
bag. I hear that linux support of this card is a bit flaky. Has anyone
had any luck getting the ix3d ultimate res to work nicely?
