Vince, try increasing the size of your ram disk in bootx. needs a minimum
of 12 megabytes just to complete the boot. 16 meg seems to work ok in my
experience.

Subject: Problems loading RAM dsk image on Starmax 4000

I purchased a copy of Yellow Dog 2.0 from a resent trade fair in London.
We have
an old Starmax 4000 MT MAC Clone in the lab and when I try and load
either of
the supplied RAM disk images I get the following errors during the boot
process
which results in a kernel freeze:

RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0
attempt to access beyond end of device
01:00 rw=0, want=8197, limit=8192
dev 01:00 blksize=1024 blocknr=8196 sector=16392 size=1024 count=1
EXT2-fs error (device ramdisk(1,0)):read_block_bitmap: Cannot read block
bitmap-block_group = 1, block_bitmap = 52428800

the above was copied off the screen and continues in a similar vein
until the
system locks. Is this a symptom of a corrupt CD?
