I am sure this is the best place in the universe to ask this question.

There don't seem to be too many heterogeneous filesharing solutions out there.

My situation is that my YDL box is a client, and a MACOS 9.1 or X box
will be the fileserver. I want to be able to edit files that are
physically on the Mac, but using the YDL. If I understand it aright,
netatalk allows this the other way.
