Ron,

I had the same problem and via this list was told that the ethernet driver
in CS 1.2 does not correctly support the "gmac ethernet interface" on new
iBooks and G4s. I loaded CS 1.2 on a PowerMac 7300 and Appletalk works fine
(after doing a #modprobe appletalk).
