Hmmm I can't remeber but if this is the machine that came before the 590 595
series to boot into the diag mode you need to shutdown and power down the
machine.
Then turn the key to service mode and power the system back up. It will
probably
take forever to boot while it detects hardware and such but it should boot into
a diagnostic mode similar to that of the 40p/43p machines. This is where you
can
set all that fun boot info. You might want to look into hardware support for
this
machine. If I right about my thinking there is some ancient MCA hardware in
this
system and a very weird memory bus and such. Also make sure the machine has the
usual Y2K updates. I remember the 595 needed a lot of updates I can't imagine
how
many the 530 needs.

This should work for you if I'm thinking of the right model. I never actually
worked
on a 530 but the 590/595's are the same machine with updated SCSI and CPU's. Be
careful
they are touchy machines that don't like to be messed with.

      I won't buy a cd if I can't listen to it first.
