Well I'll be dipped.

It's works fine now. Thanks a lot! I removed pump, installed dhcpcd and
adjusted the config script. (did I miss anything?) Reboot and everything's
just peachy.
I wonder why 'pump' is the default dhcp client daemon under YDL when
'dhcpcd' doesn't cause as many problems....
