I got the same message when I tried to install xf4. I decided it's
because the howarth site for xf4 doesn't provide the fbdev file among the
Xfree86 4.0 rpm's. Let me know if that is indeed the problem, I'll watch
for a complete list of files for xf4ppc. Try to build from source and
install.
