Brand new here.
Am a Linux newbee wanting to get into Linux.
Primary goals are to work in emacs for Python and Erlang programming.
Second, explore the wonderful world of OSS.
Machine is a brand new G4 top of the line. Peculiar features are:
-- an Adaptec 39160 superwide SCSI card and fast (second) disk
-- a Kensington trackball
-- a second video card. (first is GeForce2MX 32M, second is Radeon 32M)
Question is: which is more foolproof for a dummy: new YDL disk
WITHOUT installation support, or CD's WITH installation support.
Thanks.
Best, Ted
