Yes I will give this a go...

I tried to append the kernel - no luck

recompiled the kernel many different times - no luck

I had tried an older kernel when booting and found that the frame sets
were higher so I thought it was with the kernel but it did not work....

Thanks, I'll let you know how it goes...
