This really isn't a pmud problem, but rather a kernel problem.
Sleep really has no hope under the 2.2 kernel
for machines that don't already sleep. The kernel hackers
working on PMU stuff are using 2.4.x exclusively.

I suggest your try 2.4... although since the TiBook still is new, I'm
not sure sleep will work.
