Isak,

I have it working fine. Some advice (assuming you have XFree86 4.01 running
at the moment):

- start in runlevel 3 without X running (ie init 3). Make a backup of
XF86Config-4

- the video driver you need may not be compiled by default. Copy
xc/config/cf/xf86site.def to xc/config/cf/host.def then edit host.def to
include any features you need. I edited this to make sure the ati driver
was built

- after building and installing run Xautoconfig4 again. Start X - it may
work. If not, gradually change the appropriate parts of XF86Config-4
manually. I am using the XF86Config-4 from XFree86 4.01 but with the
"Device" section updated.

Has anyone gotten x 4.1 to work on YLD?
I tried copiling it and got a very fast error. don't have it now but it
wrote about ten lines and the returned an error. Has anyone else
experimented with it?

Anyone have any luck with YLD 2.0 installer? I have previously installed
'LinuxPPC 1999Q4', ',YLD Champion Server 1.2', 'LinuxPPC 2000', and LinuxPPC
2000Q4'. All have their little qwerks, but I never had a complete failure
to install.

Unable to get a useable video output. Selecting 'No Video Driver' alone
presents multiple columns (unreadable) of boot messages. Adding video
settings to the kernel arguments command line gets closer. At best when the
ramdisk images start loading the display has the first 2 to 4 columns of
characters (depending on the vmode and cmode settings) on the right edge of
the screen. The text is also subdued.

I have gotten to a somewhat readable license agreement only to find the
keyboard would not work.
