Subject: Why all the YDL 2.0 video problems?

It seems to me from lurking and reading that people are having an
unusual number of video issues, especially just installing. It doesn't
appear to matter significantly whether it's a clean install or moving
from YDL 1.2/1.2.1.
Anyone have ideas on what is happening? Is it moving from XF3.x to XF4,
the newer kernel (and which one, 2.2.19 or 2.4?), or both? Or am I
off-base here?
