Hi Carolyn,

  As for what you can do if you get a fixed IP from your ISP... this is
where you get to have fun with names (for a price :). If you have a fixed
IP, then you can buy a domain name, like carolynfairman.com/org/net,
etc. Or, if stavia.com isn't taken, you could aways use that ;)

  Another potential use is if you have multiple machines, you could
theoretically have the named blah.yourname.com, where blah is your machine
and yourname.com is the name that you bought (if set up properly, all the
blah names come free).

  With regard to time out, I think what was meant was that the lookup on
your name would timeout, and then it would proceed with the connection
(although i'm not positive about this).
