From a machine's perspective, its hostname has NOTHING to do
with its IP address(es). A machine can have multiple IP
addresses. An IP address belongs to an ethernet interface, not
the machine as a whole. The laptop I'm trying this from has 3
IP addresses: 127.0.0.1, the one on the ethernet interface, and
the one on the wireless interface. Its hostname is "Powerbook"
and has never changed despite going through 3 ISPs, 3
employer's networks, and an internet cafe.
