Folks:

I have an iMac SE400 with 128meg RAM and YDL 2.0 using the 2.2.19-1k kernel
and wanted to know if anyone had been successful in getting audio CDs to
output through the external speakers or through the headphonejacks/sound out
port?

I've tried using xmms with the cdread plugin (versions that came with 2.0),
but no go -- get some interesting soft noise coming from the speakers with
the gain all the way up, but no CD sound.

Can someone spare some pointers or suggest changes in setup that might help?
I tried looking at imaclinux.net (their server appears down) and elsewhere,
but no luck in finding a reference.
