Ah, my mistake. BootX of course will only load kernels from a Mac-visible
partition, which sadly does not include ext2.

You could also try the HFS+ utilities. While not entirely robust, they might
help:

hpmount /dev/hdaX
hpcd "System Folder"
hpcd "Linux Kernels"
hpcopy /boot/vmlinux vmlinux-2.2.19-1k
hpumount

Give it a shot...
