I seem to have two minor issue with my yellowdog 1.2 install

I have an 8600/200, which has MACE onboard ethernet

The first is each time I boot into Linux my eth0 onborad adapter picks up an
IP from my dhcp server seemingly fine, but the interface shows errors and
dropped packets. It also doesn't seem to get the default gateway correctly
as external sites are unavailible via straight IP address pings

          inet addr:192.168.1.201 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:35170 errors:6 dropped:220 overruns:0 frame:6
          TX packets:35429 errors:1 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          Interrupt:14 Base address:0x1000

I can resolve this by running /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifdown eth0 and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup eth0, and everything is fine

Second issue is linuxconf from Xwindows or the console does not save any
data. No matter what I enter under eth0 config. it always shows up blank
again. I can get around this too, but it is an annoyance.

Anyone seen these issues before, and have any suggestions ?
