Subject: Will YD 2.0 be available before OS X or before Christmas?

Problems with keymappings....
I had some major problems with installing xfree86 4.0 - 4.2
and could not get the keymappings to work properly. No matter what I
did in the config file changed any thing (pc101, mac.... etc I tried
it all and still nothing changed.... What a headache.) I asked for
help on LinuxPPC site and this one and after spending days and days
trying to reinstall and figure it out but I could not get it to work.
It just did not work so I thought of just waiting for YD 2.0 to come
out with the correct keymappings. And still nothing on YD 2.0....
Just, oh it will come out... so will my hair on the top of my
head......
I am a commercial photographer dealing with digital imaging
and use both Linux and the Mac OS. I am still heavily routed in
the Mac OS because most of the hardware and software vendors I use
have not written drivers for Linux. This continually keeps me using
both systems until I can switch to Linux full time.....
The dilemma.....
I was hoping to get Linux up to date on the graphics workstation,
(G4 500mH, 812MB of memory, soon 200MB hard drive space, and 2 21" monitors),
before OS X comes out this month. It does not look that way...
(Again, is this the computer industry.. vapor ware...? I have
learned to believe things in the computer industry when I can
actually see the product in my hands... ) If I ran my business that
way... you will get your image in time for your ad some time this
year... I would be out of work and living in a paper bag under the
overpass.
I guess I have to just wait and see latter in the year for
YellowDog's updates since nothing has surfaced into tangible software
and in the mean time will be spending the time working in OS X....
I can care less about holding the release for a graphical
installer.... It would be better if we could get the release now
with the updated software and when the graphical installer is ready
then release it as 2.1 or something. Yes, I am frustrated since my
time is money....
