It Works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Barks at me when diald starts to upgrade software to use /dev/ttyS0 but
works. Now all I have to do is get rid of the route to my eth0 card so that
it uses my tap0 interface to route through and I'll be ok.
Thanks!
Barry

Barry,
Did you try substituting /dev/cua0 for /dev/ttyS0 ? Forget all the
stuff about this being "deprecated" - you may find it works.

hello,
I'm running a PowerMac 8500 with YDL 1.2.1 kernel
2.2.17-0.6.1.
My modem is attached to ttyS0
Installed diald-0_99_1-1_ppc.rpm
The stystem dials my ISP and login occurs. Then pppd hangs.
I have tried to use /dev/modem and /dev/ttyS0 and does same
thing.
I am enclosing the listing from /var/log/messages
Any advise would be greatly appreciated! I really need to
get this system running my RedHat intel box is dying a slow death.
ppp works fine if i issue pppd blah blah blah from command
line using the same options as diald and the same connect script.
Thanks,
Barry
