I belive that part of the 2.5 VFS work is documentation, I think I
remember seeing something on LWN to the effect that Al Viro wants betters
docs so he doesn't have to do everything :) 2.4 got a complete VFS
rewite, so here's hoping it settles down a bunch (except for the JDB).
