Hello all,

i hope that someone can help me with the following nuisance, i might have
overlooked something obvious, but being the newbie that i am, i gonna ask it
nevertheless:

sound won't load at boot, i added the 'alias sound dmasound' line to
/etc/modules.conf, reboot, modprobe dmasound, it says:'can't locate module
dmasound'. kmix won't help me either.

So i downloaded the alsa-package of which is spoken so much in the
YDL-archives, but when i run the configure script it says: unkown soundcard
pmac, exciting! when i trie to run 'make' after that i'm told i should run
the configure script first. Somehow that doesn't turn ME on.

I'm using YDL 2.1 with the 2.4.10-12a kernel on a quicksilver G4 867mhz.
lsmod lists dmasound-pmac, (size 42896, 0 used, but gives no user, even not
'unused'). The dmasound files are where i suppose they should be: in
/lib/modules/2.4.10-12a/kernel/drivers/sound/dmasound.

Please help?

regards,
Jan-Maarten
