I had the exact same problem with my home-office network. AirPort
Base station dispensed DHCP IP addresses to my OS 9 and OS X machine
happily, both wireless and through the Ethernet connection to the
base station. I was NEVER able to get a working network connection to
YDL 2.0 or 2.1 even though an IP address was assigned. I even tried a
different NIC with the 8500 I was using but that was not the issue. I
finally gave up.
