I hope you only mean the ATI Mach64 chip. I thought the driver finally
worked for the ATI Rage 128/Rage 128 Pro chip (I hope, I hope).

Acceleration on your computer will be mediated by the ati driver.
When this works, you will have accelerated video. On my rig, the
driver "works" but with distortion and a most aggravating "reset" as
if the degauss switch was being hit, once every 10-15 sec. From my
POV, the ati driver is unusable. Other's MMV.
