Yes, Mach64. I should have been explicit on this. I have no
experience with the newer ATI stuff.

Indeed, ati acceleration is fine for this combination, as it is for
XFree-3.3.x.

Are you -sure- you're running accelerated? The only way this is true
is is you have "ati" as your driver in the device section of your
XF86Config-4 file.
