Subject: setting up a remote samba printer...the hard way

i need to set up a SMB printer on my YDL 2.1 machine
and my Slackware 8.0 machine. yes, i know that the
machine running Slackware is *not* a mac but the
procedure is the same i bet. i'm not running X on the
mac and when i set it up through linuxconf, it doesn't
print anything. but when i use smbclient
//host/printer -P and use the print command at the
prompt, it prints the text file, although it does that
annoying stairstep thing. i just need to know how to
set this up without linuxconf or printtool. thanks
