Sigh, I shoulda known there would be someone who's been playing w/ computers
since they were 5. I did not mean to denigrate anyone and/or their
abilities.

Okay, I give up. Guess I'm too old school, and my expectations aren't as
high. Then again, my frustration level and blood pressure are probably
lower, too. <g>

I am 27 years old and I have worked with almost every major OS for personal
computers that have ever been released (in varying degrees)including: SunOS,
Irix, UNIX, Linux (Mandrake, Red Hat, and YDL), Commodore 64 and 128
(BASIC), DOS, Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, XP, Trs-80 (BASIC), TI-99 (BASIC),
Amiga, Atari, Mac OS (all, including OSX/Darwin), Apple IIs and OS/2. I
think that a command-line interface is generally very easy to use and I have
no problem manually editing configuration files with emacs or whatever.
However, most of these OSes supported sound out of the box, even the TI-99.
I feel I have the right to be a little bit frustrated. I am not a newbie by
any stretch of the imagination.
