oh I know that, it only comes into play on play back - as I said in my firstI
can hear the difference.

the Music itself is treated, more or less, like any other data transfer,
i.e., it goes over the (in this case) IDE bus to the hard drive, not through
the sound card thence to the drive, so his posts about the sound card were
irrelevant vis-a-vis the ripping and burning.

the card comes up in quality of Play back, if you have never heard one, you
should, the Mac card isonly 10 or 12 bucks more then the PC card, at least
for the available SBLive 5 card, no audigy for the mac yet.

DVD and Game play (UT on LInux) is phenominal. Really fun stuff.
