        I've got a strange situation with my Lombard right now. I'm
currently running the 2.4.17 kernel, but this problem has been going on
for quite a while now -- at some point in time, the lowest sound volume
possible became extremely loud, especially on the headphones jack.

        With additional experimentation I found that the problem also
existed under the MacOS side. Any lombard owners out there experience
this and have a fix?
