Don't forget to
# modprobe usb-storage
Then you can mount your zip
# mount /dev/sda /mnt/zip

If it works, create an entry in /etc/fstab and, if desired, a desktop entry
in KDE for GUI mounting.
If it doesn't, check that the module is loaded (lsmod) and have a look at
/var/log/messages when plugging the drive.

Hope this helps. At least it works with a 250MB zip.
