Hi ya'll, I downloaded Opera 5 for PowerPC Linux (http://www.opera.com).
Damn, that browser kicks some royal ass compared to Konquerer or Mozilla
"molasses". Graphics heavy pages loaded in under a second (the joys of a T3
(or do we have a T5?) on a Sunday afternoon :), new pages opened on command,
and browsing was virtually instantaneous. Mozilla chugged along and
Konquerer would crash every now and then (though, Opera too crashed (but got
better once I sort of figured out how to disable opening new JavaScript
windows... I wish Opera would allow you to disable JavaScript selectively).

In YDL Opera 5 for Linux is the _fastest_ browser I have ever seen on my G3.
It's smoother and faster to respond than Opera for OS X (except no
command-click to scroll around the window :( and gives IE 5.1 a run for its
money for polish (sorry Netscrape but you really have been losing battles in
the browser wars (which seem to be heating up again :) :) :).

Eric
