Sylpheed IS quite good and quite fast. I am now using it exclusively for
work
and play. It does compile on PPC, but you do need to update some of the GTK
and
Glib libraries to get it to run on YDL 2.1. If you don't mind Ximian Gnome
it is
the easiest way to upgrade, but if your like me and find Ximian too
restrictive
you will have to compile and install the libraries separately.

If you really like OE, try Ximian Evolution. It is a carbon copy of OE but
it
does run slower than Sylpheed.
